Research interests

My research interest lies in the transmission dynamics of infectious diseases in humans. I use mathematical and statistical models to understand how human behaviors shape epidemics and explore the interactive mechanism between the environment and the population. Currently, my research focuses on:

  • Vaccination strategy – how can we allocate scarce resources to subgroups of the population?

  • Heterogeneity in susceptibility – if there is large heterogeneity in susceptibility to infection, how does it affect the course of an epidemic?

  • Wastewater monitoring – can we use it as an alternative (complementary) surveillance system to reveal hidden transmission in the population?

研究内容

私の主な興味は、ヒト感染症の伝播ダイナミクスにあります。数理モデル・統計モデルを用いて、 人間の行動がどのように感染様態を形成するかを理解すること、環境とヒト人口群の相互作用のメカニズムを探求することを行っています。現在は、主に以下のような研究テーマに取り組んでいます：

  • ​ワクチン接種戦略 – 限られた資源を対象の人口群の中でどのように配分するべきか？

  • 感受性の異質性 – 感染に対する感受性に大きな異質性がある場合、それは流行の経過にどのような影響を与えるか？

  • 下水モニタリング – 集団内の隠れた感染伝播を明らかにするため、代替的な(相補的な)サーベイランスとしてどこまで利用可能か？
